We're based in Auckland, and our team works standard business hours, Monday to Friday. Place your order before midday, and we'll do our best to dispatch your gift box the same day.

We ship with New Zealand Couriers, and while they’re fast and reliable, delivery times may vary during busy periods. Due to increased courier demand, we can’t guarantee exact delivery dates – but we’ll always do our best to get your gift there on time. We also update our order cut off dates and times in busy periods to better ensure on time delivery.

We do our best to get your gift delivered within the expected timeframes. While courier delivery times are usually reliable, they’re outside our control – so delays can occasionally happen due to things like traffic, weather, location, or incorrect address details.

If your gift hasn’t arrived within the timeframe listed on our Delivery Info page, just get in touch with us and we’ll follow up with the courier for an update. You’re also welcome to contact New Zealand Couriers directly using your tracking number.

Couriers will usually leave your parcel at the delivery address, unless they feel it’s not safe to do so – in which case, they’ll leave a calling card instead.

Because many of our gift boxes contain perishable items like food or flowers, we recommend making sure someone will be at the address on the day of delivery to receive or collect the parcel promptly.

If you’d like to give the courier authority to leave the parcel without a signature, you can let us know in the ‘Add a note’ box at checkout. Just include any helpful delivery instructions (e.g. "leave by the front door under the porch").

Please note: If you choose this option, you accept full responsibility for the gift once it’s been delivered, as it may be left unattended. Batenburgs is not responsible for what happens to the parcel after delivery.

If you're unsure or concerned about the parcel being left, we strongly recommend selecting 'signature required' at checkout for extra peace of mind.

Unfortunately, overnight or Saturday delivery isn’t available for rural addresses. If you're unsure whether an address is considered rural, you can check it using the New Zealand Couriers Address Checker Tool here.

Please note that signatures may not be possible for rural deliveries. On your tracking link, once the parcel is marked as “Delivered”, it means it’s been handed over to the rural delivery driver. From there, it can take an additional 24–48 hours to reach the recipient.

Thanks for your patience – rural deliveries take a little longer, but we’ll make sure your gift is on its way as quickly as possible.

To give your gift the best chance of arriving on time and in the right hands, it really helps if you can provide as much delivery information as possible when ordering.

Here’s what we recommend including:

• Recipient’s full name
• Full postal address – please double-check all details are correct. If a delivery is delayed or needs to be redirected due to incorrect address info, additional courier charges may apply.
  

If you’re sending to a business address, please include:

• the building name and level number, plus any helpful delivery notes (e.g. “Leave at reception”).
  

For hospital deliveries, please include:

• ward and room number, hospital level, and full postal address.

For apartments or gated properties:

• Couriers often can’t access these without someone home to answer the intercom. Please ensure the recipient will be in – otherwise, the gift may need to be redirected (additional charges may apply).

And lastly, please include the recipient’s contact phone number – it can make all the difference if the courier needs help finding them.
