Important Christmas Delivery Information

We will ensure your parcel is dispatched on time from Batenburgs in Auckland but once dispatched we cannot guarantee delivery on the requested date due to the expected huge courier loads. This is why we recommend selecting a delivery date before Thursday 19th December as your parcel may be delivered a day or so either side of this date. Couriers are expecting their busiest Christmas ever with millions of parcels passing through their network this December. Because of this we strongly advise that you place your Christmas orders as early as possible. Placing orders early still means that you can select a delivery date of your choice but it also means less chance of disappointment due to the huge courier loads and expected delivery delays. Orders received after their cut-off times will still be dispatched but may be delivered in January 2020 so please ensure you check ordering cut-off times below for your delivery area in NZ. To pick up your order from our showroom in Newmarket simply select the “Pick-up from Showroom” option in the shopping cart. Our showroom will be open extended hours during December and close for the holiday at 12.30pm on Tuesday 24th Dec. We will re-open again after the holiday in January as normal. We advise that you do not choose hampers with fresh fruit or flowers for Christmas in-case there is a delivery delay. All other hampers contain non-perishables including the cheese which is sealed in an airtight tin and does not need to be refrigerated until opened.
The recommended closest delivery date to request for Christmas is Thursday 19th December.

Urgent Deliveries

For urgent or same day deliveries when you have missed your order cut-off time or needing something delivered quickly, please call us to organize this over the phone. This service is available Mon to Fri from 10am – 4pm. We can arrange deliveries within 90 mins, 1 hour, 2 hours & 3 hours throughout Auckland. This urgent service is not available online so please call us on +649 522 2313 and we will take your details over the phone. Another option is to come and pick up your order from our showroom at 9 Melrose Street, Newmarket, Auckland.

Tracking your Order

When your order is picked up by the courier you will receive a Courier Tracking link to the email you ordered with. You will then be able to click this link and see the courier information on your parcel.

Delivery Delays

We endeavor to deliver your parcel on the requested delivery date if your order is placed before the ordering cut-off time but because of location, weather, traffic, incomplete or incorrect delivery addresses and unforeseen circumstances we cannot guarantee this. If you are aware that your parcel has not been delivered on time please email us with your order number and we will contact the courier asking for the reason and the expected delivery date. You will be cc’d on this email so you can see first-hand the reason for the late or non-delivery. You can also contact the courier directly and give the information on your Tracking link. We do have an option to click “Permission to leave” the parcel if no-one is home when the courier arrives. By selecting this option you take full responsibility for the parcel once it has been delivered. By ticking this option neither Batenburgs nor the Courier are responsible for the parcel. If however the courier feels that it is unsafe to leave the parcel unattended he will leave a calling-card and take the parcel back to the depot. Batenburgs is not responsible for non-delivery if someone is not home to sign for the parcel. A redirection fee may apply.

Delivery to Hospitals

Please ensure you give the room and ward number of the recipient and check that they will be in hospital on your requested delivery date. If the parcel needs to be redirected because the recipient has been discharged there will be additional redirection costs from the courier so please take time to check this.
Hospitals have a general rule of no flowers accepted in Respiratory Care, Orthopaedics, Burns Ward, cardiology ward, ICU (Intensive Care), HDU (High Dependency unit) or Neuro surgery. If in doubt please call the Hospital before ordering or send flowers to the patient’s home or to a family member.

Delivery to Companies

Please provide the Company Name and any further useful delivery information such as floor Level and recipients phone number. If you are needing the parcel to be delivered during a specific time please call us to arrange an urgent courier. Using the standard courier means that the parcel will be delivered at any time during the day, not at a specific time.

Delivery to an Apartment

If the address is an Apartment please ensure you give us full access instructions as if the Courier cannot access the Apartment Block he will not be able to deliver and the gift will be taken back to the Courier depot where it will sit until the recipient contacts the Courier to arrange alternative delivery. A redirection fee may apply. Providing the courier with all the details he needs to get the parcel to the recipient is helpful including the recipients contact number.

Permission to Leave

All our parcels require a signature on delivery but you do have the option to tick “Permission to Leave” in the shopping cart. By selecting this option you take full responsibility for the parcel once it has been delivered. Neither Batenburgs nor the courier are responsible for what happens to the parcel once it has been delivered and left unattended.
