Eggs originate with Christians as they are a symbol of life. The egg is a symbol of Jesus resurrecting. The shell serves as Jesus's tomb and the chick cracking out of the egg represents Jesus resurrecting. Christians also used to decorate Eggs during lent as they were not able to eat animal products during this time. These were then gifted to children. Cadbury was the brand that began making moulded chocolate eggs.
